I had tattoos done on both forearms in the early seventies. I still can’t imagine why I had them done; it seemed like a good idea at the time. It was a big mistake!

As time went by I felt more and more embarrassed by them. I would always wear long sleeve shirts, even in hot weather. I started having laser treatment in 2000 at a laser clinic in London using a Yag and Ruby laser and the treatment lasted for about half an hour. The tattoos gradually began to fade after about a year. The laser clinic closed down in about 2002 and I went to another laser clinic in North London and then in Harley Street. The clinic in North London only used Ruby lasers and over a period of time they began to fade even more until I was left with only green pigment in the skin, the hardest colour to remove.

I have now been attending Cambridge Skin & Laser Clinic and the new equipment that is now in use has made a dramatic difference. Now after nearly seven years they are nearly gone with only slight touching up required and I am very pleased with the result.

I am a 58 year old man with amateur tattoos on both hands and arms. These were done by myself at the age of 15, when I was easily led by others. By the age of 18, I joined the RAF and it was then that I started to become self conscious. Upon leaving the forces 5 years later, my thoughts were now concentrated on a new career. I knew that the tattoos would now be a bigger problem.

Upon interview for a Police Officer several years later my application was declined because of them. After seven treatments at the laser clinic people are now commenting on how different they are to see. This has boosted my confidence and made me more comfortable in social environments. Having tried and tested many conventional and non-conventional methods of treatments for my persistent acne, I finally found that laser offered significant improvement and fast. After only two treatments my active spots were healed. Being of Asian skin origin, I also have the reassurance of being treated with lasers suitable for my skin. In my mid-thirties, during a particularly stressful period of my life, I developed acne on my neck. The acne gradually spread to my face, and persisted long after the stress had passed. I tried numerous potions, lotions and facials but none had any lasting effect. I didn’t want to use antibiotics but three years on I was beginning to consider them because the unsightly and painful spots were undermining my confidence and getting me down. That was when a friend suggested that I try laser treatment. The results were amazing. After just one treatment, friends and colleagues were commenting on how well I looked, not knowing the reason for the transformation. I’ve now completed the course for the acne and had some further treatment for the scarring. It has not only done wonders for my appearance but I feel so much happier and more confident.

Before getting laser treatment for my acne, I felt like I had tried everything else. I had suffered from acne for 13 years and even though it wasn’t terrible, I found it very depressing. I was a bit sceptical about trying laser treatment, but decided to go ahead with it. I have been attending CSL for laser treatments for thread veins on my legs. I started to notice the veins appearing in my twenties due to standing for long periods as a hair stylist.

I have had 4 treatments for rosacea and I have found the results very good. There has been a significant reduction in redness, visible veins and flushing is now very minimal. I have received a number of treatments to include a full session of acne laser treatments, IPL on my face and three RF treatments on my stomach. The procedure did not require a lengthy amount of time and they are relatively painless, and easy to tolerate. I am very pleased with the results of the procedures. There are no miracles and it takes time, Dr Holt is a knowledgeable doctor who really works with his patients and he is someone I trust. I had a serious car accident in January 2005. Sustained injuries compound fracture knee, fracture to collar bone and facial lacerations (under lower lip).

I decided to enquiry about laser treatment 4 months ago when I had all my physical operations. What was left, however, was not just the physical but the mental scar. Looking at the scars is a constant reminder. I feel that having these treated is like the last step in my recovery psychologically, helping me to move on. I can say I started to see an improvement after 2 months, by the 3rd month the scars had faded, become finer, tighter and less visible and they had smoothed out. My mum said that she felt it had done years of fading in months. I am really pleased with the results. I have 2 treatments left with CSL who have a professional and friendly approach that puts you at ease with everything explained. The treatment is not painful you just feel warmth. I may well have to come back after 6 treatments in a year just to tighten up the area. It has already surpassed my expectations. I would recommend it to anyone who has scars and is struggling with their appearance, through trauma etc. There is not much information for treatment for certain areas especially knee/legs and I did not know that it would be possible. One thing I would say about scar treatment is that they can be improved, dramatically even, but not removed. If you come with that realistic attitude I’m sure you will be very pleased with the result.

CSL is awesome! I can’t say enough good things about this place. The staff are courteous. I’m using the 1320 NdYAG laser and it is truly gone above my expectations. I have always been a fit and healthy person, but when I had my two children it got a lot harder to keep in shape, especially around the stomach. My skin was really wrinkled and saggy and no amount of diet or exercise would shift it.
